How studio hire pricing works in Leeds
Most studios price one of three ways:
Hourly. Flexible and cheap-looking, but minimum bookings usually apply, and short slots disappear fast into setup and pack-down time.
Half day / full day. Better value per hour once a shoot involves any real setup. If you're doing more than a quick portrait session, this is usually the sensible unit to book in.
Rates by use. Some spaces charge differently for photography, video and events, or offer discounted community and student tiers at off-peak times.
What's actually included?

Lighting. Some studios rent the room and charge per light on top. At Dock Street, Elinchrom and Godox lighting is included in the hire, along with modifiers.
Backdrops. We include a 2.7m Colorama system and a green screen. Elsewhere, paper backdrops are often a per-metre consumable charge.
Space and ceilings. Our studio is 450+ sq ft with 10ft ceilings — enough height for overhead lighting and full-length work. Smaller rooms are cheaper for a reason.
Access. On-site loading, secure parking and wheelchair access are all part of the deal here. If you're hauling kit across a city on foot, cheap hire gets expensive quickly.
