What is it to be a photographer, and why is Dock Street Studio the right place for your clients?
"I think a photographer, specifically a headshot and commercial photographer, is more about being a problem solver, a set designer, a visionary, but also somebody who wants to create the absolute best product for the client. Whether it's making a product leap off the shelf, so to speak, or getting the absolute best angle for a headshot, I tend to work hard on visualising how the final result is going to look. For a headshot, that means putting real effort into the angle and putting the person at ease. For product photography, it's about making the product look as good as it possibly can.
Lighting is one of my key areas — if I can light something well and get it looking beautiful straight into the camera, that gives me more room to work with in the edit, and so on. I spend a lot of time on lighting and creating the best image I can straight out of the camera, then give it an extra lift in post-production."
